What are the purpose of the rectangle ports on each side of the stove? Fairly hot air comes out of them, but no where near the temp of what comes out of the exchanger. Just curious. Haha

thats a body panel/surround. you're probably just feeling the natural convection, along with any turbulence created by the fans in the back. Panels are there for looks and as a sort of heat shield....the stove body behind that gets pretty toasty.

Yes, but see the little rectangle cut out? A lot of air blows out of them, one on each side, almost like it was designed that way. The air is actually very hot. Haha

After shining a flashlight into then, it appears to be ducted. I'm thinking it is somehow tied into the convection blower.
