I never can seem to get a straight answer on this! Recently I posted about stove top temps cause I was noticing a few fires with the air all the way shut down really take off! So here’s a normal routine, at the point of a reload top is maybe around 200 give or take depending on weather. Load it up tight, full air and wait till around 400 and close it to half. It stalls around 400-500 and about 10 mins in secondaries start firing. I’ll wait maybe a few more mins then shut the air down all the way. It will slowly climb to 650-700 and stay there for sometimes 2-3 hours then very slowly drop down completing that very long burn. Sometimes I have even caught it at 750 an hour or 2 in with the air shut off! I mean I’m getting great heat at that point but I’m Curious what others temps are or are they like what I’m describing?!?! I called the dealer and they act like they have never burnt wood in their life. They said, yea keep it around 300-350. What??!! The air is shut down and I have seasoned hardwood. No way! A lump of coals keep it at 300! And yea I have checked the door gasket and did the dollar bill test. All seems to check
Out! Thanks!!
