I was talking to a guy at the feed mill who has more gray in his beard than I do. I was chatting him up about chickens. He suggested mixing a small amount of wood ash in their feed to increase laying and quality of eggs. He also said that chickens really like the charcoal in ash and suggested that I might want to throw some chunks in the run so they can nibble on it. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about this?
