Wood Heat Maine – a brand new website launched to assist Maine commercial and institutional building owners and managers switch to modern wood heat in their buildings, is now up and running at woodheatmaine.org. The site is run by the Maine Statewide Wood Energy Assistance Team - funded for two years of work by the USDA Forest Service to help Maine building owners and managers switch to local, inexpensive and clean wood heat.
The site includes:

  • And overview of modern wood heat in Maine,
  • A wealth of resources and links on modern wood heating in the northeast,
  • Financial calculators and info to help you determine what a switch to modern wood heat would cost (and save) you,
  • Where you can go for financial assistance to make the switch, and
  • Info on how to get technical assistance from ME SWEAT to help you analyze what switching to modern wood heat would mean for you and your bottom line.
Soon the site will contain a comprehensive list and map of commercial and institutional buildings already heating with wood chips or wood pellets. Someone like you is already using wood-fueled heat in their building and saving money, supporting the local economy and jobs while reducing their carbon footprint.
Won’t you consider switching to wood heat?
