wood id for newbie please

I am wondering what kind of wood this is? burns well, splits easy, thinking silver maple? any thoughts?

Im having trouble really seeing the bark well, I think the flash kinda made the detail hard to see. I can't tell if the bark is intact or worn off. Any chance of getting a better pic?
 
Looks like silver to me.
 
The bark has a silver tint to it, sorry pics were with my cell phone........heres another one, prob not much better tho...

Silver maple is my vote.

If the wood is very pale I'm in agreement: Silver Maple.
 
That second pic is much better I'm sure it didn't help that I was looking at the pic on my cell phone. I agree that it looks like silver maple
