i just got home from getting a really big truckload of wood , a guy cut down the tree , and it was all limbed , the trunk is all that was left .he said it was a maple , just doesn't look like it to me , all the bark fell off. i know its heavy as hell tho , each piece was about 20-22" across by 16" cuts , and had to be about 90-`100 lbs each , i got about 15 pieces of it .

Yee Haw! Bark off! split it, stack it, cover it, let it sit for a year or two.
Nothing better. You're gonna love it.

the ms361 with a 20" bar really came in handy for this ! all we had to do was cut up the main trunk and we could take it , does it look like maple to you ? its hard to tell for me with no bark really on it other than that little piece

Here is 2 leaves stuck to the bark , and I'm guessing this little sucker is what killed the tree

Dutch Elm Disease killed that tree. That is just a grub doing his thing.

I fully agree on the elm. If you think that is stringy, cut one sometime that is not dead and split right away. It gives a whole new meaning to stringy.
