It's oak maybe not red but I can see the rays zoomed up very clearly.

Oak, I see the rays now...I think.
The first pics, wood looked a bit punky, maybe rays weren't visible on that sample? Could use a pic of the split grain but I'm not holding out much hope, seeing how grainy the other pics are. :p
