  • Active since 1995, Hearth.com is THE place on the internet for free information and advice about wood stoves, pellet stoves and other energy saving equipment.

We strive to provide opinions, articles, discussions and history related to Hearth Products and in a more general sense, energy issues.

We promote the EFFICIENT, RESPONSIBLE, CLEAN and SAFE use of all fuels, whether renewable or fossil.
It’s very dense, I grabbed it and was like “woah! I’m saving this for when it’s properly cold.” I’m not sure I have enough to actually fill the stove exclusively with it, and it’s dry so there is no smell really to it.

Not knowing how fast it'll take off, I'd mix it anyway with other wood. E.g. oak.

Doesn’t look like black locust that I’ve seen around here.

I too have seen the smaller locust grow fast.
