Not sure if anyone can tell from these pictures. If needed I can get closer up later today. I am thinking either silver or sugar maple.

Most sugar and silver maples I have seen have more defined, darker heartwoods. I was thinking more along the lines of white oak, but the bark looks a little different, and it's hard to see if it has the rays on the endgrain.

Silver Maple for sure in the first pic, second pic is some what deceiving and looks somewhat like sugar . If the pic are of the same load it is Silver.

Silver.....

They're Silver Maple. I have some laying in front of lawn right now. Not particularly heavy, but they dry relatively quick. I have quite a bit drying out back.

Enjoy.

Yes both pictures are same load. I have had split up since last summer. Had the pictures on my phone, it's amazing how light it is now. Looks like charts vary quite a bit on btu's. Anyone ever burn it?

It's not bad. Not as hot as oak or other hardwood, but it burns and it's pretty good for shoulder season as long as it's dry.

Good luck.

I burn a LOT here in central Illinois and love it. Puts out a LOT of heat . On a lot of the days and into night before bed that is all we burn, unless it is way below zero. Then load up with hard woods for over night. I keep no less than 5-7 cord on hand at all times. I never turn it down.
