Red (also called slippery) elm...

The nicest elm out there other than standing dead elm.
 
I agree! Good burning wood. I'd wait at least two seasons. Starting out green. Sun and wind are your friend.
 
Red elm is a great burning wood.. I have a lot of that stuff where I cut wood...
 
Red elm is nice wood. Season for couple years you will appreciate it.
 
Red elm is nice firewood, season for a couple years and you will appreciate it.
 
Yep. Started my season off with 2 yr red elm. Good stuff And better than white IMO.
