Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and have a question about how a chimney should be composed. I recently pulled the pipe that goes through the hearth out to give it a cleaning and noticed that there is no "L" shaped pipe that connects to the flue that runs vertically up the chimney. It seems strange but I thought I would get some advice on why that might be. Is it possible it is sitting at the bottom of the chimney (which I don't think I can access) or that there never was one to begin with? I'm new to using a wood burner and just thought I would ask before I pay a local company to come out and inspect the whole thing for $219.
Thanks,
RJ

How about a few pics of what you are seeing?

I believe sharing some visuals of the whole setup and connection you are concerned with will help you to get a good response.

Welcome to the site and good luck.
