Wood Stove & Fireplace in the Same Room

Fell in love with the freestanding soapstone stoves. I love the look of the open fireplace as well. How often do you see both next to each other in the same room? I want to add a freestanding stove 2 feet away from the original fireplace. Anyone see this done in the field?

My flexfuel gasser handles the house without issue. I just love the look o the stove. A little weird i know.
