I have some sheet metal and 1" conduit that I will use as the spacers between the wall and the heat shield. I'll use screws through the sheet metal, through the conduit and in to the wall studs.
The screw heads will be exposed on the sheet side towards the wood stove. Should I be concerned these screws will heat up and transfer the heat to the wall studs? Or am I over thinking this?
