Wood stove proximity to propane furnace

Went to a friend's to look at his proposed setup, which leaves me with two questions. Is a wood stove next to a propane furnace a no-no? He's purchased a Lopi Answer. All clearances can be met, but the stove would be about three feet from the propane furnace.

The double masonry chimney will have to be re-arranged to meet clearances......Long story short, there would be two 6" holes that need to be filled. Is masonry the best option for this, or is there a recommended plug that can be purchased?

I think 36" is ok, but this is a question for the furnace manufacturer and a check with applicable mechanical codes.

Masonry is good for plugging brick chimney holes. More importantly will the wood stove have it's own flue exclusively? What is the tile liner size in the chimney or will the new stove get a new 6" stainless steel liner?

Hi begreen. Lopi mentions nothing about the gas furnace, so he's reading through the furnace manual. The wood stove and furnace will each have their own flue, but they need to be reversed for wood stove clearance, as the chimney is tight to basement stairs. Guess we better get the code guy there before we go boring cores!

Besides getting the stove properly vented into a 6" liner, there may be a concern with 2 appliances competing for air supply. Does the propane furnace have an outside air supply already connected?
