Here's my repair on the firebox load door..
The hinge plate is bolted to the door frame with 5/16" bolts that tap into a weld nut with a threaded shoulder.
Well, I tightened to much when I was adjusting the door and tore the shoulder off, oddly the hole in the door frame that the weld nut comes through is slightly oval so I couldn't tap it for a 3/8" bolt.
I screwed in a piece of 5/16" rod and welded it from the back side, then cut it off at 3/4" long, I figured while I was set up, I should do the top one even though it wasn't broken.....yet.
I'm really surprised that this wasn't the original design, it seems so much stronger but we"ll see, maybe I'm wrong.
