My sister just bought pellets at $375/ton, plus delivery, from a stove dealer in Monroe, Connecticut. Yes, they're Okanagan Douglas Fir, and yes, we really like the dealer and his son, and yes, we want to support local business, but this is not saving us anything on the cost of heating oil. Having this stove means a lot to her, and she's paying the freight, so I'm not going to complain, but boy, oh boy! Next year, we have to be on the ball and take advantage of the low prices. Thanks for listening, and don't tell sis I said anything!

You get what you pay for (hopefully). It is worth it to me to spend the $380 a ton and not have to deep clean as often. Instead of every week I do it every 4-6 weeks. Stove is always very clean with minimal ash build up. I also only have to empty my ash pan at the end of the year. I burn about 1.5 -2 tons annually, at a cost of $760, I could burn 2.25-3 tons of cheaper pellets at $250 a ton.

That is the normal price for Okie Doug firs from every dealer that sells them here in New York and In CT. I suggest the Okie Platinums @ $289.00 early Spring buy from CT Pellet. Or AWF Ultra White Pines @ $320.00 a ton. A really good hardwood pellet is Dry Creeks @ $285.00 a ton. I have used all 3 for years, and they are GREAT!
