these are culled from multiple sources, but I've never seen them all in one place before. The rhymes are very old. The list preceding the rhymes is from an old Boy Scouts manual, and it always pisses me off because is says that Douglas Fir is poor firewood. I don't know who wrote it, but they clearly don't know jack about firewood.

Elder: A mediocre fuel that burns quickly without much heat output and tends to have thick acrid smoke. The Hag Goddess is know to reside in the Elder tree and burning it invites death. Probably best avoided.

I'd like to meet this goddess...she sounds kinda hot...
