Hello.

Can you guys please advise me on which insulation (Manufacturer and Model) I should be using both around the firebox (Heat n Glo Northstar) and also around the chimney pipe / up the enclosed chase - of course, after minimum clearances have been met?

Thanks to everyone's posts, I've learned that it's super important to insulate these units really well in order to get peak performance from them and also so my 'bump-out / alcove' installation doesn't allow cold, drafty air into the house.

Thanks in advance for your advice - I really appreciate it!

Matt

p.s. - picture attached is my wood stack that is being dried for winter 2017!

For peace of mind and greater mold resistance I would probably use Roxul in the chase stud cavities.

It really is great stuff just did whole basement with it this year.
