You should send her to the equator during heating season in MA, solves the t-stat control issue. It will likely cost you but then you might save a trailer load or two per season on the fuel costs.

My comment probably would put me on the S%$@ list till March. Dear if you like the heat, warm up the stove and make me some breakfast.:)

First time it's been over 0 in a month I believe. Stove still needed a bag this morning, but usage should drop down to 1.5 bags a day for 2-3 days, then back to -20. Its a smoking hot 4* out right now.

However, it's snowing, and I'll take -20 over snow any day -_-
-20 damn....what temp can you Alaska guys keep your houses at when it's that cold outside?

With oil I was setting back to 65 and doing 72 for 4 hours a day for the lady.

With pellets I keep the living room 80, and the rest of the house stays 70's. My house is pretty well insulated / sealed.

Right now it's hover 0 - 10* and I'm using about a bag and a 1/4.

That's awesome. This is my first year burning so I was wondering when the temps finally drop will my stove be able to maintain the 73-76 degrees temp I have been used to. We rarely get into the negatives(maybe 3 to 4 days per year with wind) other than that single digits is typically a cold day for us. So if you can keep your house in Alaska at 80 wile being -20, I'm going to assume my stove will do its job we'll with my house. Thanks for the heads up, stay warm and Merry Christmas.

What kind of pellets do you guys have access to out there?

Nah, no need for OMV style security out here. honest, hard working, middle class folks around here. not sure where I fit in?

Leave the keys in the ignition, back door unlocked. If anyone wanted they could clear me out in no time.

Pretty much same here. I'd lose my keys if I didn't keep them with the vehicles.
Was pumping gas the other day and a guy locked his car when he got out to pump fuel. Really?? I'd never live in a place that bad!

looks like warm 40s for the next few days, then a weekend wintery mix storm headed to new england for the weekend.
still, nothing too too cold though.

i got up in the middle of the night and took the big comforter off the bed. Even with the stove off it got too hot.

Where's winter?!>!>!>>!

Is it:Friday, December 21 yet, if not it ain't winter yet, still gettin' ready for winta here in Maine.

Have some patience, you'll be crying like babies when it gets cold out or you cross the 1.5 bags of pellets a day line.

:p I don't despise the cold, but i LOVE snow. always have from a kid right on through to today. I ENJOY going out and shoveling the walks and driveways.

Well, can't say it's -30 to -40 here but it did drop to +15F last night. Had the ole P38 idling along keeping the lower level (1800 sq ft.) at a comfortable 71 degrees. Normally it's 63. Snow? What's that?
