Anyone know of a site that will inform me of the wood types that are in the Arizona area. I grew up in the Country east of Buffalo NY, I know the wood around that area. Since moving to AZ, I am having a hard time identifying what is what? Pines no, problem, it is the Mesquite, scrub oak, tamarick, plus so many more out here. I have check a few arborist sites which is great for pictures and description, but if I don't know what I am looking at or for, I can be on there for days.

Is there anyone that could help me out.

Last year we were out in Scottsdale and there was a guy there that did woodcarving. He had a shop on the main road there. I got into a discussion with him about wood, he knew it all. Sounds like it would make a great hunt for you to find him and enjoy the conversation.

Stonehouse...Akron!! that is the town I left 20 years ago.
