Kathleen, not to derail the post, but a yooper is someone who either is from the upper peninsula of Michigan or who lives there....AKA, a uper, or yooper.
Maybe you have to live here to get it. Those of us who live BELOW the Mackinaw bridge are considered trolls.
Weird, huh?

Thanks again Pen, and Kathleen.
I was out in the shed looking for a piece of pipe, when I spied a box of galvanised couplings and nipples.
Like Kathleen stated 1/2 inch was a little big so I put it on the bench and smashed it a bit with the big hammer...waalaa..done
door closes great.
Almost 30 years ago I "had" to read " A Sand County Almanac" for a school class. I think I have read it another 10 times since.
The Good Oak, a must read for anyone that enjoys a blazing wood stove...thanks Pen.
Happy holidays to you all..rw

Excellent!
I'll have to dust off the old copy of SCA and give it a re-read.

As to the yooper- I suppose I have heard of this in a Jim Harrison tale.

What?? I've lived in lower Mich. my whole life and never knew I was a troll!! I'm not sure if I like that. Technically, I don't really live under the bridge, it's way up North.

I ask myself that every day. The stoves have all been in since 2006. :red:
