They purchased in 2012? May be slightly older than that by a year or two depending on dealer inventory at the time. Born date will be on the metal plate on the back of the stove. As of 2013, new price was $2829. Not sure what the going rate is... I'm sure others will chime in.

If it is indeed new in box, never installed it should be trouble free for the next 5 years.
