How many cords do you think?

Using the Lawn Tractor as a guide I am guessing you have 8Ft between the Fence Rail and the Shed. Extrapolating I am guessing you have 45 Feet of Tree with a 30" diameter. The area of a circle is Pi R Squared.. Radius is 1.25 ft 3.1416 X (1.25 X 1.25) X 45 = 220.9 Cubit Feet. Or 1.73 cords
 
I want to readjust my estimate which was 5 cords. There is a gap between the shed and the tree which I didn't originally account for. I still think that is a 10' x 10' shed. If we scoot that shed forward it will appear bigger. So, let's account for this. It could be a 10 ft gap between the tree and shed.

I think 5.5 sheds is more accurate for the length. I think the tree diameter averages out to at least 30" (2.5'). Cylinder Volume = pie x r2 x Length. So, 5.5 x 10' (width of one shed) = L = 55 ft.

r = (1.25')squared = 1.56
Cyl. Volume = 1.56 x 55 x 3.14 = 269 ft3 269/128 = 2.10 cords

We need to multiply by 1.3 to account for the air space created while stacking. Final answer = 2.1 x 1.3 = 2.73 cords.

Yeah no way was that a 75 foot tree. Even if you look at the chain link fence, not enough poles for 75 ft.
 
So…I ordered another bar and chain. Once it gets here I’ll go over and measure the tree and the diameter, and the mess of pinched stuff before and after I cut the log correctly. Then we can truly calculate. And that tree might be 75 feet it is looooong!
 
Ok progress! I will buck the tree tomorrow with two friends! My bar and chain will be released and we will be in action. So the tree is pretty much 2 feet across and 50 feet long so that volume equals 1.53 cords. Of course, there are healthy limbs off the main trunk and air gaps when stacked, so I think 2 cords wins the day! Here’s pictures of the tree from today !

Storm clean up is the most dangerous time you will ever use a chainsaw. It kills people every year even professionals. Be safe.

I'd say 2-3 because there's still a good section to the left of the busted fence that we can't see.

Loving the measurement units in this thread (shed, ride-on toy). I would use the hammock stand but they vary from 12-15'.
 
no no no not the bar that you guys had to many bourbons and got pinched;lol
 
Haha been there, done that with the bourbon. Yes we freed the bar and chain. I haven’t yet changed it out as I have the 18” on there now. It looks ok from visual inspection. Right now I have a big pile of chunks that need splitting and stacking before I get more wood. I live in suburbia, so my postage stamp property is getting a pile along the side and back. It’s filling up!!
