I already have a Enerzone ZC fireplace that is great for this warm winter keeps the main living spaces (bedrooms, front room, TV area in basement) at 73 -74. This includes 3 levels as is has a blower to the basement. It does not heat one section of my house very well though, the kitchen, sitting room, 4 seasons porch, and a bathroom. It keeps these areas about 66 to 68 most days when it is 25 and above. Decent, but my wife likes heat. We are thinking of either ripping out the gas fireplace in the sitting room and adding a stove or adding a stove to the 4 seasons porch.
This Jotul is small. From what I've read on here it appears to be just over one cubic foot. The small size sure would be nice in some ways as it wouldn't take up a huge footprint on the four seasons porch. The problem is overnight burns and the work to keep her going all day. I'm suspecting 3 hour reload times and a difficult restart in the AM.
The Jotul seems perfect for the job in all other ways and the price is right.
The other option would be to buy a nice cat stove (a princess or soapstone) to make for little work and more adjustable heat. Big bucks though!
