I'm considering making my own outside air kit rather than buying the "kit", which is just overpriced. I noticed that the Mt Vernon Insert requires a collar in order to attach a pipe to the air intake port on the stove. For those who have homemade setups, where did you get the collar? Or how did you make do?

Here is a picture of it from the kit.

Made my collar, just soldered a old oil can, you know squirt type to a plate. Only thing I had to buy was the aluminum hose.

My dealer installed my quad, but I'm pretty sure they fabbed up the collar piece.

Thank you, that's great advice. I might go with the header reducer as I already have everything else I need.
