Great place ya'll got here, tons of priceless info.
The wife and I have decided we are tired of paying the gas company as much money as we do to heat our 60 year old house. particularly since we have enough hardwood on the place to last for several decades.
We're not new to heating with wood but it's been a few years. The last stove I bought and installed was a big ole Ashley way back in 1985We had great service out of that stove and it was still going when we sold the house in '90.
I've looked at a number of different stoves offered by local dealers, Buck, Quadra fire, US Stove, and a few "off brands" that I can't remember, mostly because they looked kind of cheaply made and I'm fairly certain I could build a better one with nothing more than my cutting torch and arc welder.
Anyway, I'm leaning heavily towards the Heatilator Eco-Choice WS22. The published specs look like it will do the job I want it to do which is mostly keep the main living area of the house comfortable, fit in the space I want to put it and fit the budget we have for the project.
I know it is made by Quadra-fire and the model I looked at seems to be a well built stove.
Any negatives or problems with this stove that I should know about before I pull the trigger on this stove?
Thanks
