Are you a reasonably handy guy that can follow directions fairly well, are thorough and has some basic tools? If so, you should be able to do it. If you have a good helper for a day, then it should go pretty smoothly. The key will be planning well. As for savings, expect to pay say $500 for a liner kit and say $2000 for a good insert.
