Just wondering why that is? Are they not as reputable? I had a Quadrafire as my first stove, and in my new house, I just invested in a St. Croix simply because of the deal my local dealer gave me. Should I be worried?

Not at all they're good stoves. Many brands seem to be "good" or "bad" by region. St. Croix is a reputable company from my experience.
