We have a few like that on our property, I stay away from those.I think I'll just stay away until mother nature puts it on the ground.

The way I would approach it is like this. Get some light line, even fishing line if you have it. Tie a lead sinker to one end, throw it over the tree. Go to the other side, throw it back under the tree making a loop. Now, attach heavy rope to one end of that fishing string with tape. Pull the light line so that the heavy line goes over and under the tree. Make a noose out of it once you have it all the way around. Then, attach to a vehicle and pull the thing. You could also just do this with heavy line, but I find that the sinker does not take the heavy line quite as far as the light line. Depends on your arm strength. I'm no MLB pitcher, that is for sure.
Obviously, do not walk underneath that thing. Walk around it when you go to the other side to get the lead sinker. If I could not pull it down with a truck or a tractor, I would let it stay there if it did not pose a danger to anybody.
I've done this with many trees. I don't use fishing line, I just tie a decent rock to the end of the rope and swing it up and over a limb or crotch, then whip the rope around until the rock makes it's way with rope to the ground. Then tie a noose, slip the end through, and pull her tight. Then use that rope to pull the tree where I want to. Some times use a come a long. Sure ya gotta be careful walking around and not under.
