I guess y'all all know by now Im a worry wart. LOL
well anyway is it safe for Hubby to be using that heavy rubber hose that came off the Superb brand 2 burner propane unit... for a freestanding apt sized natural gas supposedly convertible to Lp
we have several tanks 20 pounds worth. He installed it (apt sized 20 inch stove)on well covered deck that gets no real sun... so much shade there ,
Also. I want to put a shield behind it too ,Heat shield that like goes behind a wood stove
We bought it used it was barely used. Just sat out in Purgatory house's big garage for at least 2 years...
Its a natural gas unit.... a Maytag unit... The owners manual said its convertible for either LP or NATURAL. gas
Hubby stole the heavy a RUBBER. hose from our several years old 2 burner (Superb brand cast iron 2 burner unit.) Its like having a double turkey fryer.... We keep those on the covered deck too..
SO IS that safe? I think he ought to do the soft copper lines. He brought all of that we had. He went to local small town HOME CENTER to buy adapters 1/2 Pipe thread to regulator. 3/8 gas male Flare..for LP. COURSE HE FOLLOWED THE BOOKLETS INSTRUCTION FOR THE OFFICES. THEYARESUPPOSEDLY ADJUSTABLE. HE still needs to adjust the oven offices. Asked him to put a sign there warning me or future users in the meantime.. till the oven offices are adjusted.
..
so is that safe? Yeah I know black steel pipe is the safest....
Now I also wanna use my cute old Corning ware cooktop. mostly> But he needs to run 220 out on to the covered deck toot
I do all of this cause I cook or bake or meals everyday... too...I hate heating up the house... Course just for hot weather time usage. This garage is not as big as Purgatory house so there no real room for a stove Like there we HAD... another sad LONG tale involving a local small town scammer....LOL
help yall. PLEASE and thanks so long story shorter is using that rubber copper inside hose okay for both the burners and oven ???????

I don't think it's safe, or legal to hook up a stove with a rubber hose.

I think you'll need to use black pipe or csst.

What would be unsafe about it? As long as leaks were checked for. If I read right, it's an outdoor install. I think. Was a bit hard to read though.

Legal-wise, I have no idea.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to pick through the post. It may be outside. While an aged hose leaking natural gas would vent to the atmosphere. LP is going to pool in a low place, right against the house. Possibly finding it's way into the basement where it would displace the air or could go boom!

You need a certain diameter line to feed an oven plus burners also. I'm in my cabin looking at an apartment sized stove. 40k btu oven, with (4) 9k btu burners. You may be choking the heat output with a rubber hose.

It's not hard, or expensive to run a propor gas line. It just needs to be done carefully. It can be really expensive if it's not done right.
