looking to see which one to purchase. Both hardwood the Energex is at $235 a ton whereas the Instant Heat is $250.

Anyone who has used these pellets your input would be great.

Thanks fellas

I used 2 tons of Energex last year. First ton wasn't bad. Ran out so I purchased another ton mid Jan and it ran very sooty. Also felt it didn't burn as hot as the first ton. But it did last longer than the first ton.
My supplier ran out of everything this month so I begrudgingly went to HD to purchase the Stove Chow ($249/ton).
Boy am I impressed! It burns hotter, produces about 1/2 the ash compared to Energex and seems to use less pellets than normal. BTW I normally run my stove at a 3 but this time I'm running at 4 but still using less pellets and creating less ash. Also my first floor is averaging 78°.
Do what I did and purchase one bag and see how it does before you commit to an entire ton.
