I know you guys like "carnage" pics

Busted up all these rounds with less than a tank of fuel in my loaner saw. This is all I had left for logs. Got to get felling and twitching some on Wed before I go back to work Thurs.

I'll be painting '16 on these pallets. Bet I've got a cord.

Took a shot of the non oak side of the yard too.

I've burned thus far 7 cords since sept or so. A lot of that was softwood. At last count I've got 50 pallets of non oak. I think there are 3 pallets or so of hemlock, and hemlock slabs from my beam making.

Call that 15 cord. MAYBE 2 years. Probably not quite. I've got 16 pallets... Or about 5 cord of nothing but red oak. That was CSS last winter. It will be used winter 14-15.

I guess that puts me a solid 2 years ahead. I'll keep cutting! I'd like to be better than 3 ahead, then the oak could be included instead of culled out.

I know Scotty. Your water jug stays cold, and you don't get as drenched in sweat. My 65 yr old dad came and helped this weekend. Amazing how much more I got done, just having him stack on pallets from splitter.

I like working with him now. Only takes about 30 mins for him to realize he's not 25 anymore... And low gear is ok. We bucked, split and stacked 4 pallets this weekend. That's double what ill usually do before quitting. Took us about 3.5 hours

He's fun to have help. Of course.. He's a bit "chainsaw happy" so he isn't allowed to fell. My wife made that rule before I had to.

He got a little carried away at my old house. In his defense.. it was a elm that was standing dead. To the wife.. it's was a prized lawn tree. Can't tell her different. My uncle marked just a little of my lot for cutting. The dots go ON THE FAR side of the driveway so she can't see what's going and what's staying.

I know which battles to fight after a dozen years together.
