4+ tons this year,..... and still feeding!

Well, the garage was in the 40s so now that I have AC power for the stove, I jumped out the T-Stat terminals to get a little heat today! March 21, 2013 in the 40s Brrrr.

once again Don222 does it. not one but two jerry cans next to the stove while running....................

Don't shoot the messenger, just got our long range forecast (3 weeks) as we try to get the golf courses and club house grounds ready for another season. This current pattern of 40+::Fday time highs with 20/30's at night is going to hang around till mid April:( As I mentioned in another post heating season is not over.

One silver lining in this forecast is that it's great for maple syrup production....Something very important for the local economy where I live as my county is the biggest producer of maple syrup in New York State. Given we had a horrible year last year with the very early warm weather, we need a better than average year this year. If the forecast you posted holds true for my area, it will greatly benefit the large and small local producers.

The North Atlantic Oscillation is negative this winter, resulting in the weather situation shown on the illustration below.

Translation:
jetstrøm = jetstream
kold & sne = cold & snow
varm & mindre havis = warm & less sea ice
kold & tør = cold & dry
varm & fugtig = warm & humid
kold & mere havis = cold & more sea ice

Here in Denmark we have had the coldest march in 71 years!! with a lot of snow. Some houses have been almost buried in snow. See photo.

Yes, my point exactly. You didn't really think I was blaming this on the trumped up global warming hoax did you? If you did, I have some carbon credits I'd be happy to sell you in exchange for some pellets.

This weather is a big PIA.....I actually burned ALL my GT's and had to throw a bag of Somersets in the stove today!!!!

I'm NOT happy

At least you have the 'Sets to throw in. Can't get them up here.

Now you all know why you keep a few extras around, nature doesn't care about your planning, those forecasts, or climate models.

This was common back in the 80's and 90's here. I have been out in the snow in March digging out dead wood out of the snow to try to dry it by the wood stove. In the last ten years there was a year when I burned into May.

Got spoiled the last four or five years.

I turned my pellet stove off last year on March 16th...still loading the hopper this year:p

Finally able to get outside with insulated shirtjac instead of the winter coat:) Thunder Bay is supposed to get the snow - 3-1/2 hours ride to the East...
