That old stove is a positive pressure pellet stove.I only know 1 company still makes a positive pressure stove, they have not learned yet it is a poor design.

i am not familiar with your model, I have an Englander 25PDV made in 2005, pellets were getting caught in the lower auger chamber and fire was backing up in the chamber and smoke in the pellet box. I contacted Englander and there was a recall on my stove, for the lower auger assembly. When I saw the actual construction or the 2005 auger I was shocked to see that the "Auger Thread" ( helical shaft) was partial, leaving a gap that would not push the pellets down the tube until there was a significant amount of pellets in the lower chamber.

Anyways I wanted share my experience, I certainly be concerned if smoke is getting into your pellet box.

I have a 1990 englander 25pfs. Bought used. I rebuilt everything. We had the same issue. Change the gasket around the hopper lid. Also. Make sure the latches pull the lid down tight. You can adjust them from underneath
