.005 vs .006

Still finishing up a few things before I buy my liner. Pros and cons vs .005 vs .006? Obviously, one is thinner than the other, but probably more pliable. Does the .005 stand up over time? Also, smooth vs. corrugated inside? Thanks for any input.

you know what they say, the bigger the better!...seriously, the heavier walled pipe will be better, and if you can stick with smooth that would be best, but some situations warrant the corrogated.....it's all in what you have to do to get it in......

that would be correct...it all depends on where exactly your insert or stove sits in the hearth, what kind of offset you have to make to get it in the chimney, etc......you'll get some guys chiming in here soon enough that really know their stuff with these liners, maybe re-title your post as "liner question" to get them to help out....

I seem to recall when I bought my liner, they asked if I want 005 or 006; both the same price.
"Is this a trick question?" I take the heavier one of course.

Then I installed it.
It was fine for my application, but I couldn't understand how folks flex the pipe so easily....Well, they use the 005.

So, if you have a lot a flexing and twisting, you may need the lighter gauge.

Guess, I'm not much help with specifics tho, eh?
