I was wondering if anyone has switched thermostats from the 3 degree thermostat that comes with the unit to a 1 degree variant thermostat. I installed a ac unit with the furnace, and would like to use the same thermostat for both units. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also could someone explain what low draft is? Thanks

I find wit the one that comes with my PF100 and with my unit on manual, I never vary from the temp I set.

Thanks for the reply, but that's not what I meant. The thermostat that comes with the unit lets your room temp vary 3 degrees before kicking the unit in and off. Most new digital thermometers only let it vary 1 degee before telling the unit to turn on or off.

I'm sure they planned it that way because the unit has an extended shut down cycle and is not "on demand" (ingition to time of actually distributing heat can be up to 15 minutes). Having the offset to 1 deg would have the unit cycling in odd ways. Its also variable output in that it will reduce the fire as the unit approaches the set temp. Trust the machine, its good stuff.

low draft= the amount of negative pressure maintained by the machine when its at its lowest combustion setting.

Thanks delta... Btw, I think I'll call you degree 20 instead of delta t ( just sounds better. Lol) I was kinda thinking that the unit might have a slower shut Down cycle but I haven't fired it up yet so I don't really know. It won't kill me to have two thermostat in the house anyways. I have 1 more question. What kind of meter would I need to check the pressures with? I've pretty much have been abandoned by the retailer who sold me the furnace and said they would hook up the stove pipe and do the final checks. So I'm kinda on my own here. I do have a background for working on the AC side of heating and cooling, but I just know enough to get myself in trouble on the heating side of things... I don't want to do something wrong and screw something up. Thanks for the help
