Hi, I have an 1980's model Hearthstone I wood burning stove and was wondering if anyone knew what it could be sold for on Craigslist. I would greatly appreciate any help with this, my grandmother would like to get it sold before the end of the winter.

It will depend on the condition of the inner baffle, and burn tube, but if the stove is crack free and in good shape internally then it should sell for about $600-700, or a quick sale for $500. Be sure that whoever buys it is well equipped to move it safely and properly. This is a heavy stove.

I have bought 2 of them for 500.00 (I have one upstaris and down.) And there is one in Kansas City for 500.00 right no but may have already sold. I would be interested in it for 500.00 if you want to sell it as long as the cast iron on the top is not warped.

If it wasn't a "quick sale" and the interior was not warped. Being its December and that stove is drop dead beautiful, I would ask $900 and take $700. Those are very nice old stoves. A new flat black Hearthstone the same size is going to be 4 or 5 times that much. Sure, it will be new and EPA Certified but still may be out of people budgets. Take some photos of the inside and post them. One straight back and one showing the inside top.

Make SURE you CL ad says that this thing weighs a ton (I think I recall 700lbs or so) and that any buyer comes with equipment and drunk friends to move the thing out. Get paid before they touch it.

If the stove is in good shape and as was mention the interior isn't burnt out I'd ask for $1500-$1600.00 firm.If It's heating like it should have the stove going when buyers come to see it.It'll out heat any of the new stoves that I know of by a mile.Once they feel the heat that thing throws off someone will snatch it up.Remember you only need one buyer.

In a lab test that the Equinox or Mansfield would end up testing much more efficient at heating. These stoves are not that uncommon. They sell for about $6-800 in good condition during peak season and around $400 off-season.

In my area the "One." is hard to come by even though they were first made here in New England.I don't know why they would be more plentiful 3 thousand miles away from where they were made.Any how I have the mansfield and the One will out heat two mansfields.The equinox I have no experience with but I've owned a Hearthstone II,Blaze King King,performer Z,the large Summit,Woodstock Classic,Vermont castings.Lopi Liberty and a couple others and none of them can come close to the "One".The "One" gives me 14 hours of usable heat that's efficient enough for me.With two stoves I burn 5-6 cords per season.If it's in good shape with all the pluses mentioned it's well worth $1500-$1600.00.The new stoves costing at least twice as much can't produce like the "One".Hey New member if the stove is in good shape just advertise the stove.It'll speak for itself.

A buddy has this stove. He prefers our T6, particularly the fire view.
