1984 Lopi Answer Question

I hope you can answer this question about an Answer.

I have friends that have a Lopi Answer. The sticker shows it was made in 1984. They don't know what the knob on the front of the stove in the upper right does. Can you tell me what the controls?

@Blaze19XX that is the manual for the larger 520 stove. I think the original Answers were the A1, A2 and A3 stoves. Below is the manual for that stove. Unfortunately it is all about installation and nothing about operation. In the Answer I thought that the upper right control was for the primary air. It should be pretty obvious which way is open vs closed for the air control by the way the fire behaves. There was an option with this stove for a bi-metallic startup control. This is shown on the last page of the manual (23) and would be a small lever under the ashlip if installed.
