I've got eight cords CSS for this winter. I've been burning since 2002 and I've run out every single year. Adding a second stove was a big factor as well. I had zero to start 2014 with, so this was a lot of scrounging. My wife may have me committed. If so, I'll forward the address and hope you'll find the time to write.

The woodshed is four cords of Silver, Big Leaf Maple and Ash.

The carport is two cords of Cherry and Ash. Also working on 1.5-2 cords of White Oak (with a little shagbark) I've been bringing home. I think I can snag two more cords from that scrounge. It's 15/16.

The ridge of the hill is Pignut Hickory with a few bits of Osage.

The fence row is two cords of Ash. The skids by that stack are Ash and Oak.

Down near the firepit is Pine and unsplittable Ash. 90% of this was split with the 5-ton electric. Let's see if the bandwidth police call me out!

I like the "unsplittable Ash". A new species I presume. My splitter has taken on some of those. I know what you mean.!!!

Rent yourself a hydraulic splitter for a day or even half a day and make that ash and everything else you have in rounds usable! No sense in burning perfect ash in the fire pit!

No doubt a 22+ ton splitter could crush those things, but it's a collection of geometric shapes and angles that exceed my vocabulary! Trying to split them did exercise some of my more familiar vocabulary.
