2nd 1+ ton cleaning of the season

After a week of heavy burning with these cool temps, it was time for a good deep clean. Full burn chamber sweep and vac, pulled combustion blower and cleaned chamber, then sent the brush up the flue. Nice hot burn now just in time for the 50 degree rain!

At 2+ ton so far, it was due!

Ah yes. Usually do a thorough cleaning every two weeks but with this cold spell and a warm day coming tomorrow I think I'll clean it after one week. More cold weather on the way so I'm going to beat it to the punch. Wow One heck of a winter. C'mon global warming!

Good post, Pell It, and reminder to clean, clean, clean. Will do the same tomorrow as I have burned almost a ton so far. I have been using my ash vac and bet there is a craptastic amount of ash around the heat exhaust tubes at the top of the stove. Never hurts to run the lint cleaner up the stove pipe and into the chimney as well! Enjoy the break!

Remove the set screw with a 1/8" Allen key. Pretty easy!
