I found this ad while looking for a wood stove. Is this necessary?

Does it go right down onto a stove or something?

You can't tell, looks like the stove is in an interior "room" and if so, and the flue passes through a ceiling above that stove then class A is required all the way up from there. Wow. From teh stove pics it looks like something other than classA at the stove.

To have a draft in it with it running through all of that open space, yes. No different than if it was "outdoors".

Looks like they are heating a barn with the doors wide open. Am I missing something, other than somebody likes spending $$$?

That's what I thought - it's basically outside. Must be a shop under the floor and they have black pipe going to the floor. I've just never seen that much class A - kind of made me chuckle.
