I'm thinking of installing a used Accentra in an insulated studio space that is about 4500 cu.ft. (30x16 w 8' ceiling) Is this too much stove for the space? I'm concerned that it would be running in low too much.

Something else to consider is how much glass you have, Even high end glass really is not very good insulation. My shop eats about 14k btus because the walls are only r12 and several leaks. I have no first hand knowledge of the Accentra and its exchangers that can or will plug up or if running on low will be a problem. Better made stoves now seem to have no problem idling.

I don't know a whole lot about them either except they do have some panels to remove when cleaning. Harman rates the free standing Accentra to heat 900-2400 Sq Ft., fwiw. And as mentioned much depends on other variables in this space that you want to heat. None the less it doesn't sound like it will get much of a work out.
Personally and it's just me but seems to me for heating 480 sq ft there must be other options. But hey !

Few stoves go below 10 thousand btu. Probably only a handful can run well at 8k for any time. Harman p series can run on low and not need to run a room fan and act as a radiant heater that is a very nice option. The accordion exchanger will not plug with ash or fines that often other stoves need to suck clear of exchangers and exhaust paths. I will have to travel far to find a Accentra to study in my area.

Yes even my beastly P61 can throttle down pretty well in Stove temp manual. And then you have Room temp Auto, let it cycle on and off, which the Accentra will do as well, play the on again off again game. As you say, doing something like running low in Stove temp manual stops the fan from running and you just depend on radiant heat.. I run my older (2006) Accentra insert on low (stove temp auto, heat setting 2) for extended periods with no problems. The only possible drawback of running it this way is a bit more carbon building up in the burn pot but I'm not even sure there's much difference in that either.
I have no problems running my accentra at any level and no need to worry it will keep your studio within one degree of your set temp it's an awesome stove!!
Bought it. 1300, took it apart cleaned, and am quite please so far.

P.S.: Only real difference I have seen to running it on low for extended periods is dirty glass sooner. No big deal at all.

Get that stove hooked up to a surge protector! I see some small box but not sure if it's a protector. Look in your manual also for a UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply compatible with your stove model since you have a thru the wall horizontal vent too. They cost a little bit but worth the money. I paid $100 buck for mine but bought it locally in stock. I saw where others have found them online for $60 to $80.
They offer better surge protection and also have a battery back up for a proper stove shut down in the event of losing power. This get the smoke out and then you don't get any into the house, etc;
