Just figured this would be a helpful resource. Here are the actual firebox dimensions of my Osburn 2400 insert:

Height: 12 1/2"
Width: 22 1/2"
Depth: 20 3/4"

There is a 4 1/2" shelf which is 3 1/4" high in the front of the firebox to keep coals from spilling out when opening the door.

Post your stove/insert make and model with actual dimensions. Maybe we can put together a decent catalog of real world dimensions. Some companies do not list the dimensions of the firebox and some are inaccurate, so this will hopefully be a helpful place to find real world measurements of fireboxes. I like that Osburn posts firebox dimensions. At 13.5" it looks like Osburn is measuring to the bottom of the baffle not the tubes. Fair enough. However they report the firebox depth at 15.5", so definitely stopping at the firebrick. (broken link removed to http://www.osburn-mfg.com/en/heaters/osburn-2400-wood-insert)

Yes. I just checked it again. It's 12 1/2" from the bottom bricks to the tubes (I amended my original post). The 3.2 cf specs seem pretty accurate. What's the T6 firebox look like?

Er um, dirty and full of pistachio nut shells. Getting to be time to clean it out.

Let's see if anyone else posts their firebox dimensions. This thread could be super helpful, or just a well intended dud.

There was a similar thread a while back which has some stove firebox dimensions. It would be good to find that one too.
