I sanded all the rust off of the honey bear wood stove, and before I go searching at Home Depot for paint, I was wondering if I should use something like varsol to remove the extra excess, or would a damp cloth with water be ok?

Thanks :)

TSP (tri sodium phosphate) works well at removing any oil / residue. HD will have some - used a lot for washing walls before painting.

Post us a pic of the stove before and after - you should be happier with the Fisher than with the "Darth Vador" find - my 4yo son still remembers that pic!

I will take pics for sure! :) Well, I didn't listen to your advice (bad me) and I listend to the Home Depot guy, he said varsol will work good, and you don't have to rinse it so much. I bought that brush on rustoleum paint...anyways into the garage I go, time to paint! Bf will be so happy, just hope he doesn't think I can install it as well :P
