I picked this up from a jobsite after work yesterday! There is a lot more still to get!
One of the trees has been standing dead for at least 5 years and it has the same moisture content as the one that still had leaves on it!

Yep That's oak for ya! It just holds that moisture until its c/s/s. standing dead will season faster than the green though of course. Get as much as you can of that. Nice find!
 
Nice, just as soon as I get what wood was left from last year burnt, I'm going to get two red oaks that sandy brought down last October for 2015/2016 burning season. I know the one tree has at least 2 stacked tightly on the truck loads in it.
