Oh yes, I tried it and it works superbly. (91% Isopropanol alcohol)
Just don`t use (waste) too much of it the point where there is a lot of excess in the bottom of the mixing bowl. A little bit is no problem.
What I`ve found with the different pellets I`ve used is that none of them suck up anymore fluid than whats needed to wet the outside surface .
