I saw these on a Black Cherry while cutting wood yesterday. Then I also saw them on a White Oak nearby. There were little shoots growing out of them, on the Oak. They were 1-2" in diameter at the base. Anybody know what they are?

Wood zits. Improve the nutrition of the tree and rub the trunk down with clearasil once a week.
What if I just quit giving it chocolate bars? I'm afraid Clearasil residue might damage my combustor down the road.

Tree cancer? Ive seen lots of weird stuff on trees, never seen anything like that. use a wood chisel and open one up and see whats inside. Maybe there is some kind of bug that makes those.
