MARKETPLACE? I dread every interaction I have with marketplace.
"Is this still available" Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Yeah it is frustrating especially when selling things.
But it did help me a lot when we had to close and get rid of everything in my Dad's office last summer. It was a whole building full of all kinds of stuff.
Saved us at least 3 or more dumpsters and we got some money but the benefit was not moving nearly as much stuff as it was cash, or free, and carry.
Lots of heavy office furniture and metal cabinets and lots of antiques, and over 1000 legal books!

it’s probably pignut by the look of the bark
Bingo!!!

I'd grab every bit of it, limited storage space or not.
Even if it was ash, I'd at least grab the majority of it....easy pickings.

Well, I guess my gut was right. It was not Hickory, it’s Ash. Most of it is pretty good. There are some rotten/ant pieces. I took about half maybe a little bit more that was there and I’m going to go back for the rest after some of the snow melts that we’re getting this weekend. Going to get dumped on with one to 2 feet of snow so I’m not sure how long it’s gonna take for some of the snow to melt to make that accessible. My estimation is around two cords here wont know for sure until I get it all stacked.

How far was this pile?

Yup worth the drive for sure. And u were able to split on site - Nice.
Yes. Easier than loading the rounds for sure. Mostly big stuff left, when the snow melts some and their yard is accessible by truck again I’ll go back and get the rest. Normally I do split on site, but last time I had no time

Wow, pics can be so deceiving.

Like I said, still a good score though. At 2 cords it would have been gold if were pignut.
Nice job Matt. You're still bringing home the bacon.

Yeah, I've never seen that dark, Maple-looking center on the White Ash we have here. Maybe it's Green or Black Ash?

To my knowledge, I've never seen green. But, black has a darker center and smoother bark in the crown.
Black is also know as mountain ash.

I have seen white ash around here that looks like this. Can’t say I’ve seen black ash around here. The bark on the bigger stuff definitely distinctive for white ash, I’m sure that’s what it is.
