Anyone burning FUTURE FUEL by E.P.M. out of Missoula, MT??

I picked up ten bags of FUTURE FUEL pellets made by a company called E.P.M. out of Missoula, MT. Got them at WalMart for $4.94 a bag which is about the best price around here. (Home Depot wanted $5.97 the other day here in Northern RI! - crooks)

The Future Fuel seems to be burning well with low ash (it lists on bag that it "meets or exceeds PFI standards for Premium Pellets")

The pellets have a very strong odor though - not very pleasant.

Your thoughts, experiences, anyone??

I burned This kind of pellet for the past three years, was satified, seemed like they had more BTU content, Wally world don't carry them here in Golden anymore, but up untill this past year they were being sold for $142.00 per ton, Walmart sells a different brand now but for $4.97 per bag.
They do tend to leave more clinkers, but if you clean once a week, you should be okay with this brand.

I am burning them right now. I buy them at the Placerville CA Walmart store. A month back they were 3.87 per bag. I think they really burn great. Only problem is that they are often out of them, and the plastic bags seem to be pretty thin (easy to put a finger through them if your not careful.

Think I'll go pick up some more this weekend - notice they sort of smell strongly? Any ideas what it's from?

Smell varies with the wood type. I had Lignetics (Idaho softwood pine) for a few years, but didn't really liked the smell, though they were a good, consistent product and burned well. Switched to Blazers (doug fir) and they smelled great and were also a good product, but had a bit more fines.

Whatever... Burn 'em if ya got 'em.
