anyone ever drill glass?

wanna put a small knob to be used as a handle on a pane of jalousie glass. Using these as windows sort of over the opening of hdwe. cloth..... these are "window" , well more like ventilation area/
the width of the glass , uh, believe is over 3 and 1/4inches wide...by say 12inches long....
BY the way its not tempered glass. these came out of oldused jalousie windows we bought years ago
i wanna use knobs like kitchen cabinet type .......
I saw some on the web..... brands anyone? always forget to look at big box stores when I occ go to "the city"

Glass drill bit...can still be a crap shoot, even glass shops break things when drilling sometimes. Most hardware's will have these bits.

Thinking an easier method would be to buy an appropriate adhesive product . . . there are so many kinds today that are wicked strong.

Back in the days when I was a rock hound I used circular diamond drill bits. They worked well.

Steal some play dough from the kiddies, make a moat around where you want to drill, fill with water, and use the bits shown in the other posts. The water keeps the temp from creeping up to quickly, and gives you a better chance - and it's still a crap shoot!

Wouldn't the water fly away as soon as the drill spins? Maybe drill a hole in an ice cube and use that.

ah he found an unused drill bit with the pointy arrow type. he did fine. He used the drill press thanks yall

Its hard to believe that cheap prices that they are any good... thanks anyway

drilled a lot of glass....wet core drills like above are the best. Go slow and be patient. The final breakthrough is key. You can 'glue' another piece of scrap glass to the back using melted candle wax and that helps too.

If you have buddy with a drill press, use that, but don't apply too much pressure.

Practice on scraps first.
